Many people associate Turkey primarily with Istanbul or Antalya, but the country’s gastronomy is truly brought to life by the diverse culinary traditions of Anatolia’s many regions. This area has been a crossroads of civilizations for millennia, where diverse spice blends, unique pastries, and the combination of sweet and savory flavors shape the everyday meals of its people. From sesame-coated simit to kaymak and honey, from muhammara to the tahini and pekmez mix—each bite tells a story of Anatolia’s past and present.

Ágnes Tóth, founder of Nar Gourmet and an expert in Turkish cuisine, who passionately explores the flavors of Anatolia, from the sultans’ palace kitchens to today’s street food.
